Cementerio San Jose I y II ~ San Jose Cemetery I and II

Fueled by the almost thirty year absence of an active trusteeship of the San Jose II Cemetery (also known as San Jose #2, San Jose #3, the new San Jose Cemetery and the Montopolis Cemetery), the threat of encroaching development as well as the decades of neglect maintaining this burial site, a new board of trustees has been officially established. Under agreement with the Montopolis Neighborhood CDC, the San Jose Montopolis Cemetery Association (SJMCA) has now formally been created. In an effort to reestablish the historical relationship and connection between San Jose II Cemetery (located at 8101 Poston Lane/Ella Lane) and San Jose Cemeterio I cemetery (located in the 700 block of Montopolis Drive), both now fall under the auspices of the San Jose Montopolis Cemetery Association .
