This year for our 2024 Spring clean-up of the San Jose I Cemetery, we are very pleased to partner with Keep Austin Beautiful, a local Austin non-profit who works in conjunction with Give Pulse, a civic network matching people in our community with causes they care about while enabling easy organization, management and mobilization of volunteers and supporters.

And of course, we have our community of participants of previous clean-ups coming together also. In addition, we are happy to have the UT spirit group Texas Infinities join us for a Sunday cemetery clean-up at San Jose II Cemetery (8101 Posten Ln) on April 21 beginning at 9 am. Everyone is invited to participate in either one or both.

San Jose Cemetery I focus:
1) We need to finish removing the brush which has already been accumulated in several areas of the cemetery. KAB has graciously donated the use of a roll-away dumpster which will be a major help to accomplish this priority;
2) Clearing fence lines;
3) Erecting and reestablishing fencing in a section which has none;
4) Mowing the front half of the cemetery;
5) Liter pick-up.

San Jose Cemetery II focus:
1) Perform weed removal and raking in section 2 of the cemetery;
2) Clear south fence line and erect fencing;
3) Liter pick-up.

As usual we ask that you do not wear shorts, open-toed shoes or tank tops. Long sleeve shirts, hiking boots and long pants are recommended. Tools will be provided at both sites, however you are welcome to bring you own. Drinks and food will be provided.

It is not required, but you are welcome to sign up for the Saturday clean-up here.
